Luminous Ecologies by Meredith Connelly

Step into a glowing ecosystem at the Dumke Arts Plaza.
Luminous Ecologies by Meredith Connelly (@meredith.connelly on Instagram) will transform the plaza into an immersive environment of light, movement, and interconnected life systems. Featuring the illuminated installations Water and Mushrooms & Snails, the exhibition explores ecology, mythology, and the delicate relationships that sustain the natural world.
Through sculptural forms and shifting light, Connelly invites viewers to reflect on water as a life-giving force, the hidden intelligence of fungi, and the quiet organisms that maintain ecological balance all around us.

Of This Place: Great Basin Neighbors is a group exhibition of work by Newe (Shoshone), Numu (Paiute), Nuche (Ute), and Diné (Navajo) artists. Utilizing the languages of basketry, beading, ceramics, fiber, installation, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, and quillwork, these artists celebrate and express concern for the landscapes of our shared region and reflect on the impact of boarding schools on their cultures.

Curio Theatre

Curio Theatre is a one-night, interdisciplinary event that transforms a vintage cigarette machine into a site of intimate, multi-sensory storytelling. This project centers on ephemeral exchange: audience members will purchase an original artwork from a reimagined vending machine, then attend a live performance created in direct response to that object. Audience members will select and receive an object from the machine before being guided to the corresponding performance experience.

From Emmy Award–winning performance collective Manual Cinema, The 4th Witch is a visually stunning reimagining of Shakespeare’s Macbeth told through shadow puppetry, live music, and actors in silhouette. The story follows a young girl who escapes war, learns witchcraft, and seeks vengeance against the warlord who destroyed her home. Exploring themes of grief, war, and cycles of violence, this inventive production is recommended for ages 12 and up.

Melissa Melero-Moose is a Northern Paiute/Modoc mixed-media artist whose work is inspired by the landscapes and cultural traditions of the Great Basin.
