WHY WEBER STATE
I grew up in Logan, Utah, and Weber State felt like the perfect balance for me. It was far enough from home to give me independence, but close enough that I could visit family when I wanted. Affordability was also a major factor, and Weber State offered a high-quality education at a price that made sense for me.
WHY ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE
During high school, I thought I wanted to be a mortician, but I found out I was allergic to formaldehyde, so that thought ended quickly. I then wanted to pursue psychology because I really like learning people’s 'whys'. Why do they do what they do? Why are we the way we are? During my first few years at Weber State, I took a career exploration class that helped me narrow my interests, align my values, and find a career that suited me best. At the end of the semester, the conclusion was accounting, and I stuck with that to the end!
SENSE OF COMMUNITY
What stands out most to me is the people. The faculty, staff, administrators, and students made Weber State feel like a true community. I am incredibly grateful for the relationships I built and the support I received throughout my time there.
WHAT'S NEXT
I’m not entirely sure, and that’s okay! I didn’t always believe I would make it this far, but I’m excited to see what comes next. I’m currently working as a cost analyst for a contract defense company and am open to whatever opportunities the future may bring.
PROFESSOR IMPACT
All of my professors made an impact. Every professor I had believed in me and played a role in my success. Their support and encouragement made a lasting impact on my educational journey.
ADVICE FOR OTHER STUDENTS
Never give up. Life happens, and things get hard, but an education is something no one can ever take from you. Ask questions, get involved, take deep breaths, and believe in yourself.
