WSU appoints new vice president of Student Access, Success & Enrollment Management

OGDEN, Utah — Weber State University is strengthening its commitment to helping students start and finish college by welcoming Ali Threet as the new vice president of Student Access, Success & Enrollment Management.

Threet, who served as interim vice president for the past 10 months, will continue leading the university’s Student Access & Success division. Her efforts will help guide student recruitment, retention, and support. Ali Threet stands outside on campus, smiling at the camera, in front of green grass and trees.

“This is a team I’m really proud to be part of,” Threet said. “There are so many good things happening across Weber State, and I’m excited about what we can do together. We want every student to find their place here, know they belong, and have the support they need to be successful all the way through graduation and in life.”

During nearly two decades of higher education leadership experience, including a recent role as assistant vice president and dean of students at Utah Tech University, Threet has built a reputation of putting students first. Her background spans many key areas of student life, including career services, veteran services, testing services, athletics, and much more.

Threet joined WSU in July 2025 as dean of students. She was named the interim vice president of Student Access & Success in November, overseeing a division that serves WSU’s more than 33,000 students. Following a national search, Threet was selected to fill the position permanently, effective Aug. 17.

“Ali’s leadership gives us every reason to be confident about the future,” said WSU President Chris Mallett. “She’s here for our students, she brings people together, and she believes in what we can accomplish as a team. That’s exactly what we need to help more students than ever connect, learn, and succeed.”

Threet holds a doctorate in adult organizational learning and leadership, a master’s in educational psychology, and a bachelor’s in interpersonal communication.

As fall semester approaches, Threet plans to continue building on pathways and partnerships to ensure students find their way to WSU and gain an education that prepares them for lifelong success.

“It’s about the students,” Threet said. “We want to make it as easy as possible for students to move from high school to college and, eventually, into the workforce. Our job is to remove barriers along the way and help them see Weber State as the place where they can continue their education and be successful.”
