Weber State Cancels Classes Sept. 9

Due to continued microbursts of wind, extensive power outages and internet and public school closures, Weber State University is canceling all classes, at all campuses and locations all day Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Power has been restored at all campus locations with the exception of University Village, which is a section of student housing in Ogden. Food and supplies are being provided to students living there.

Weber State employees have been asked to check with their supervisors about reporting to work on campus in order to serve student needs and to restore campus buildings and grounds.

The university is assessing damage, which includes downed trees and signs. Several campus construction projects had supplies and equipment blown around. Minimal damage has been reported to buildings.

Weber State wants to ensure students, faculty and staff have a safe environment to learn and work.

As warranted, the university will send emergency messages through Code Purple and will provide updates at weber.edu
