Weber State police practice coordinated emergency response

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University polFirst responders treat a victim of a multiagency active shooter response trainingice hosted a multiagency active shooter response training at the Ogden campus on Aug. 23.

During the exercise, law enforcement and emergency personnel from Weber County, Davis County and Hill Air Force Base practiced quickly and effectively responding to an emergency. It also tested how they communicate and coordinate in these efforts. 

Responders were called to a simulated shooting incident in a university building, where patients with mock injuries were transported by ambulance and helicopter to local hospitals. 

Weber State police said regularly practicing these scenarios ensures the university and nearby community stand ready to prevent and respond to real-life emergencies.
