WSU to Host Food, FUNding, and Your Future Community Carnivals
OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University invites the community to three separate Food, FUNding & Your Future Carnivals on June 11 in Ogden at the Community Education Center (CEC), June 18 at the WSU Davis campus, and on Aug. 18 at Farmington Station.
Each of these events will give students and their families the opportunity to learn about Weber State, get one-on-one help with funding, scholarships, applications, and have a blast while doing it. Applicants will need to bring identification and estimated gross annual income information for funding and scholarship assistance. DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) students are also encouraged to attend. Spanish and English speakers will be on hand to answer questions.
“You can also explore educational programs from badges and certificates to degrees to secure a better future in just a few months,” said Niki Tonks, marketing manager for the John B. Goddard School of Business & Economics.
On June 11 at the CEC in Ogden and June 18 at WSU Davis, the events will have a number of activities to entertain family and friends, including music and carnival style games. Local Mexican food truck, Mi Puebla, will be giving out free tacos, and Ivan’s Snowies will be giving out free shaved ice as long as supplies last at both events. Participants may also visit various booths from Weber State organizations and learn about different activities and services.
On Aug. 18, the Farmington Station will host a free concert and block party in conjunction with the "Rock The Park" concert series. Visitors can participate in games at Weber State’s booth, then cool off and fuel-up with free food and drinks inside.
All events are free and open to the public. For more information, visit weber.edu/adult/FoodFundingFuture.html.
