Weber State Invites Community to Hike to Canyon Waterfalls

Ogden, Utah – Weber State University’s Outdoor Program invites students and community members to participate in the Summer Waterfall Series, which offers one hike a month in June, July and August to discover local waterfalls.

Beginning with the summit hiking series in 2016, Campus Recreation's Outdoor Program has aimed to offer Weber State and the surrounding community an opportunity to explore their own backyard while promoting healthy, active lifestyles.

This year Jamie Berstein, Outdoor Program assistant coordinator, worked with Kelly Boyce, marketing and operations coordinator for Campus Recreation and waterfall enthusiast, to add a few refreshing touches to the series.

“Weber and Davis counties are blessed to have some of the most amazing waterfalls in the country,” Boyce said.  “We felt the WSU community would enjoy getting a great workout during the hike then cooling off in the waters to get the perfect picture.”

Summer Waterfall Series schedule:

June 9, 2018: Waterfall Canyon
July 7, 2018: Farmington Creek
August 4, 2018: Adams Canyon

All trips will depart from the Outdoor Program building at 4022 Taylor Avenue, Ogden. Participation is free for everyone. Participants are asked to bring their own water, pack and other supplies. Registration is required at weber.edu/outdoor/waterfall-series.html.
