In his hometown of Riverton, Utah, Dallin has been frequently involved in environmental projects and groups both in his community and school. Dallin feels most at home when he is experiencing nature whether it be camping, hiking, or just enjoying the beautiful scenes that nature presents. Ensuring that he will be able to enjoy those experiences in the future is a key motivator in Dallin’s life. In the Salt Lake valley where Dallin lives, poor air quality, allergy inducing pollen, and drought, all worsened by the climate crisis, threatened both Utah’s beautiful natural environment and quality of life for himself and other members of his community.
