Sarah R Bateman is the founder of the City of Orem's Natural Resources Stewardship Committee, founder and chair of the Utah County Sustainability Coalition, currently serves as co-president of the Utah Recycling Alliance (501c3), and is a member of the Utah Valley University Sustainability Committee and the Utah Valley Clean Air Task Force. She has partnered with schools on garbage audits, food waste audits, air quality projects, and guest instruction. She conceived of and helped execute Feast Utah events in 2017 and 2018. Her first formal community project, Free SWAP - Sharing We All Prosper, has been active in Utah County since 2008. In 2019, Sarah was named "Steward of the Year" by the non-profit organization LDS Earth Stewardship.
