Kim Bartels

Children's Environmental Health Advisor, USEPA Region 8

Kim has worked in EPA Region 8 for 22 years and is currently the Children’s Environmental Health Advisor in the Office of the Regional Administrator.  Her work focuses on protecting children from environmental risks and promoting healthy environments for children where they live, learn, and play. While Kim has worked in the Children’s Health Program for the past six years, she has experience with Community Based Environmental Protection, and has also worked in the Nonpoint Source Pollution Prevention Program, and Sustainable Materials Management Program. Kim has a B.A. in Biology from the College of St. Benedict in Minnesota and a M.S. in Environmental Science University of Colorado at Denver. Outside of work, Kim loves being on-the-go with her family.  Their family adventures include sports and school activities, hiking, biking, road trips, gardening and spending as much time outside as possible.
