Musculo-Skeletal Testing
Muscular Fitness can be divided into three categories: strength, power, and endurance. Each of these characteristics can affect how well different activities are performed. Muscular fitness affects both flexibility as well as bone density.
Muscular Strength Assessment
Details: We can assess muscular strength in a variety of ways depending on the muscle group that you desire to evaluate. Common techniques include using a dynamometer or a 1 rep max. The HP Lab staff will determine which techniques will provide the most meaningful data. In general, though, you will be asked to exert maximal effort for a brief amount of time using specific muscle groups.

Bone Density Screening
Details: The HP lab has the capability to assess bone density at specific sites. There is a correlation between the bone density of the sites that we measure and the overall health of your bones. The test requires that we place an ultrasound probe on your finger, forearm, or heal. To make sure that we obtain good results, we will use ultrasound gel, which can be cold to the touch.
Instructions: To ensure the most accurate results as possible, please
- Please wear short sleeves.
- Please wear shoes and socks that are easily removed.
