scubaThe purpose of the Scuba Club: Underwater Explorers of WSU is to open a community for students of similar interests in scuba diving. The club will welcome students who are interested in, learning about, or participating in SCUBA diving or snorkeling activities. These activities include but are not limited to: recreational dive trips, environmentally friendly community service projects, and career development. However, only certified divers will be able to participate in any SCUBA activities.

Weightlifting

weightlifting clubWeber State Weightlifting is a university level weightlifting club. The club was developed by students with the intent to benefit students as well as the community. Our coach is Matthew R. Barker. We are excited to bring the sport of weightlifting to the Ogden area and to Weber State University. Weber State Weightlifting is working closely with Campus Recreation as well as The Department for Health Promotion/ Human Performance. We thank these two departments for all of their help. Our current home is in The High Performance Center in the Swenson/Stromberg Complex. This is one of Utah's finest gymnasium facilities, with access to hydrostatic weighing, Bod Pod, and a fully loaded exercise testing lab.

To expand the sport of Weightlifting by inspiring student athletes to achieve their goals through hard work, technical mastery, and sportsmanship.

The club practices 2-3 times a week on average, and competes in 5-10 competitions in an academic year. Weightlifting has been active since 2013.
