Weber State University is helping make financing college easier by offering free help in completing FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) in February.
For your convenience, FAFSA application help is being offered at the locations listed below. This help is offered without appointment on a first-come-first-served basis and there is NO cost (free service).
- It's necessary for you (and your spouse, if you are married) to have filed a 2012 Federal Income Tax Return in order to complete a FAFSA application for 2012-2013. If you are a dependent student or are younger than 25, your parents must also have filed a 2012 Federal Income Tax Return.
- It is extremely beneficial to file your taxes a minimum of 2 weeks prior to coming to this event because the priority deadline for FAFSA is March 1, students completing their FAFSA applications prior to March 1 are more likely to receive funds (for those who qualify).
For help with filing taxes you may contact: VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance). They offer free tax help to low and moderate income individuals. You can make an appointment by dialing 2-1-1 http://www.utahtaxhelp.org
