Davis Campus Computer Lab Aide
Hourly/Work Study

Lab aides oversee the open student computer lab, providing customer service and technical support to students using the lab. Shifts are available at two locations: WSU Davis Campus in Layton and WSU West Center in Roy.

Qualifications:

  • Must have completed TBE 1700 (or equivalent) with a grade of "B" or higher
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Suite and WordPerfect
  • Prefer experience working in a customer service environment


Davis Campus Computer Lab Team Leader
Hourly/Work Study

The Computer Lab Team Leader supervises, schedules, and trains lab aides. The Team Leader is chosen from current lab aides.

Qualifications:
  • Experience as a computer lab aide
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills


Davis Campus Office Assistant at Davis Learning Center
Hourly/ Work Study

The Office Assistant serves as receptionist in the tutoring area, answering questions and scheduling tutoring requests by phone and in person. He/She organizes office processes, does data entry, makes copies, and maintains files. May also work on special projects such as developing spreadsheets and reports as well as creating advertising for the department.

Qualifications:

  • Have completed TBE 1700 or demonstrate competence in using Microsoft Office Suite and e-mail
  • Have enthusiasm, good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Accurate and attentive to details


Davis Campus SI Leader
Hourly/ Work Study

SI leaders facilitate study groups for a class in which they've excelled, building communication and leadership skills in the process.
  • Share knowledge of the subject with students taking a particular class
  • Help students earn better grades
  • Help students improve their study skills
  • Connect with other SI Leaders and students

Qualifications:

  • Have earned an A or an A- in the class
  • Be recommended by the course professor 
  • Have adequate time available to hold SI sessions at times convenient to the class members


Davis Campus Testing Proctor
Hourly/ Work Study

Proctors monitor students during testing and learn excellent customer service skills by helping students and faculty at Davis (Layton) and West (Roy) Testing Centers.

Qualifications:
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Basic keyboarding skills
  • Accurate data entry


Davis Campus Testing Lead Proctor
Hourly/Work Study

The Lead Proctor monitors students taking tests, serves as a role model of excellent customer service, and has responsibility as a peer leader in the testing center.

Qualifications:
  • Experience as a proctor
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills


Tutors for Davis Campus
Hourly/Work Study

Tutors offer individual help in math, writing, and other subjects at a choice of three locations. Tutoring may be done on a drop-in basis and/or by individual appointment. Schedules are determined by tutor availability. Tutors earn national certification by taking a credit-bearing training course. Positions available in Math, English/Writing, Science/Social Science.

Qualifications:

  • Have earned a B+ or better in any courses to be tutored
  • Have a strong working knowledge of the subject matter
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a desire to assist your fellow WSU students
