WSU teams up with Real Salt Lake
Weber State is bringing more purple to the Salt Lake Valley after becoming the exclusive educational partner of Major League Soccer’s Real Salt Lake and the National Women’s Soccer League’s Utah Royals.
The collaboration kicked off in 2024 with high-impact marketing initiatives at the teams’ training and game facilities in Sandy and Herriman, connecting soccer fans with the array of WSU academic opportunities. Last season, WSU enhanced the fan experience at select RSL matches by hosting interactive booths before kickoff, allowing fans to engage with Wildcats and win prizes. Booth volunteers, including students and employees, met hundreds of RSL fans who are proud Weber State graduates, underscoring WSU’s deep roots in the community.
In July 2025, RSL hosted Weber State Title Night, which saw hundreds of Weber students, faculty, and alumni cheering on RSL to a 3-2 victory over St. Louis CITY SC, followed by a fireworks show. The next title night is scheduled for Aug. 19, 2026.
The partnership will run through the 2027 season.

Students, faculty, and alumni will join their peers at America First Field for Weber State Title Night, held during the Aug. 19 game against FC Dal-las. Weber State will also have a booth at the following RSL home games:

- Sept. 12 vs. New York City FC
- Oct. 14 vs. San Jose Earthquakes
- Oct. 24 vs. St. Louis CITY SC
