Department of Public Safety

The Weber State University Department of Public Safety (WSUDPS) has responsibility for the oversight and coordination of all campus safety.

WSUDPS includes the Police Department, Fire Marshal’s Office, Risk Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Emergency Management and the Clery Program and works together to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone at Weber State.
 

Departments

Police Department

The WSU Police Department cultivates a safe and secure atmosphere that supports the educational process, promotes academic and personal achievement, and community prosperity.

Risk Management

Risk Management provides services in risk assessment, insurance management, contract review for insurance, and establishing acceptable risk levels.

Environmental Health & Safety

Environmental Health & Safety aims to improve the safety of everyone on and off campus, as well as provide information and procedures for potential work hazard situations.

Emergency Management

WSU’s Emergency Operations plan gives basic administrative guidance in handling most campus emergency or disaster situations.

Clery Program

WSU’s Annual Security and Fire Report is available for public viewing, per the requirements of the Clery Act.

Fire Marshal

The Fire Marshal focuses on preventing fires on campus and seeks to eliminate their causes, ensuring the safety of all students, employees, and visitors to the WSU campus.
