As a parent helping your child explore higher education opportunities, we know that costs and return on investment are important for you. Weber State University has a rising reputation for great return on investment. Here’s why:

Low Cost

We prioritize keeping tuition costs low: Our out-of-state tuition is often lower than in-state tuition in other states, while Utah’s strong job market gives our grads great opportunities.

Generous Aid

In 2022-23, we awarded over $90 million in financial aid to more than 12,000 students—not only making the cost even lower, but also making it possible for our students to graduate with little to no debt.

Are you a parent who is looking into earning your degree? We have child care, personalized tutoring, flexible courses to choose from and more.

Resources for Parents Coming to School

Our Students

Among Weber State’s 30,000+ students, you’ll find certificate-seekers, undergraduates and master’s degree candidates. You’ll also find a varied population of local first-generation college students; high percentages of students who are married, have children, are working full time, commute to our campuses and centers, and receive financial aid; along with a growing number of out-of-state and international students. Today, we are proud to continue our legacy of opportunity, offering a quality education and personalized teaching at an affordable cost.

Student Life and Support Resources

Weber State University: At a Glance

At Weber State, students not only find what they’re looking for academically — we have 225+ certificate and degree programs and 20 graduate programs — they also find professors who put teaching first. Our small classes give Wildcats big opportunities to discover their passions, research topics from anthropology to zoology and change the world through service learning.

We are nestled at the base of the Wasatch Mountains in Ogden, Utah — a vibrant city that has earned a national reputation as a great place to live, raise a family and do business. Northern Utah offers outdoor recreation activities for all four seasons, as well as world-class culture, arts and sports.

Arts & Culture

Our beautiful visual and performing arts venues allow students and acclaimed artists alike to showcase their creativity. The Val A. Browning Center for the Performing Arts welcomes nearly 30,000 patrons annually, while the Mary Elizabeth Dee Shaw Gallery engages audiences through our many programs and exhibitions.

Weber State University Athletics sponsors 16 NCAA Division I athletic programs and is a charter member of the Big Sky Conference. We have won the Big Sky Presidents' Cup five times and won multiple championships in each sport. WSU has also produced numerous All-American and All-Conference athletes from each sport, including NBA superstar Damian Lillard.

Economic Engine

Weber State enjoys deep ties to our community, our region and our state as an educator of the workforce, an idea generator and employer. Always looking to support local businesses, we work with companies to develop programs and degrees specific to their needs.

Facilities & Sustainability

While we’ve added beautiful new learning environments, we also have reduced our direct carbon footprint by 30% and are committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
