Current International Baccalaureate Guidelines

IB Credit beginning Fall 2023

IB REQUIREMENTS WEBER STATE UNIVERSITY CREDIT
Diploma Requirements:  A student who completes the IB Diploma program will receive 30 semester credit hours and a waiver of all Breadth Requirements (including the Diversity Requirement) contained in the General Education requirements.  To further waive the Core Requirements, a student must complete the corresponding Higher-Level Subject with a score of 5 or higher. Students can earn the 30 credits for a diploma or credits for individual subject exams up to 30 credits.

If the IB Diploma is not earned, students may be awarded up to 8 semester hours of credit and a waiver of the corresponding general education requirement for each Higher Level Subject with a score of 5 or higher as detailed in the Subject Exam guide below.
If a student submits AP, CLEP and IB scores for evaluation, the IB credit will be awarded first.
If the AP, or CLEP credit duplicates the IB credit already awarded, the AP and CLEP credits will be reduced by the amount of credit awarded for the IB Higher Level Subject in the specific area.
