Weber State’s outdoor and community recreation education degree gives outdoor enthusiasts, thrill-seekers and sporty students the essential skills to work in, or run, recreation agencies.

Outdoor & Community Recreation Education Highlights

Many outdoor and community recreation education classes are held in Weber State’s recently renovated Center for Health Education and Wellness, with a variety of recreation and wellness services, including the Weber Rocks climbing wall, Swenson Pool and pickleball courts.

You can also learn new skills through Weber State’s 1-credit recreation activity courses, which include stand-up paddleboarding, rock climbing and skiing.

Beyond the Classroom

While earning your degree, you’ll build on what you learn in the classroom with hands-on experience at internship sites such as state parks, sports clubs and recreation centers.
