Barrett Bonella, PhD, LCSW


Barrett is a native of Salt Lake City. He enjoys reading, gaming, social work, and spending time with his wife and three sons. He is the newest social work faculty at Weber State and currently teaches:

SW 1010 - Introduction to Social Work
SW 3500 - Social Work Policy
SW 3700 - Social Work Research
SW 3930 - Social Work Macro Practice

Barrett has worked in the Social Work field since 2001, when he worked as a crisis counselor for a hopital in Salt Lake. Since then he has worked as a psychiatric technician, therapist, instructor, research assistant, clinical supervisor, and as a clinical director. When he's not teaching, he works as a contract therapist and pursues research in the areas of mental health and criminal justice, program evaluation, improving teaching methods, and innovative use of technology in the classroom.
