Jessica has worked at WSU’s Women’s Center since Summer 2019 as the Safe@Weber Advocate. Prior to that, she worked as a shelter services advocate at the Domestic Violence Intervention Program in Iowa City as well as a Healthy Relationships and Art Instructor at the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women. Jessica has earned her Master’s of Fine Arts in Sculpture, Master’s of Arts in Intermedia Art, and a Graduate Certificate in Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Iowa. She is passionate about the connections between advocacy, art, and intersectional feminism. Jessica loves working in the Women’s Center supporting survivors and is also an avid rock climber, hiker, and aerial dancer.

Katelyn has worked at Weber State University since 2018, first as an hourly student and, as of Fall 2021, as the Administrative Specialist for the Women’s Center. As a student of Weber State she is pursuing her Bachelors of Science in Sociology and Minor in Women and Gender Studies. An Ogden, Utah native Katelyn is passionate about her community and is devoted to gender equity, intersectionality and education. Outside of the office you can find her baking goodies, traveling to new places, with her nose in a book or out exploring nature with her dogs.

Mercedes graduated from Weber State University in 2017, during which time she served as a Safe@Weber Student Leader. She is very excited to be back at the WSU Women’s Center as the Violence Prevention Coordinator. Her bachelor’s degree is in political science with a minor in women and gender studies, and she is currently working toward her Master of Professional Communication here at Weber State. Mercedes came to us from Safe Harbor Crisis Center, where she was a community advocate and coordinated the Lethality Assessment Protocol in Davis County. Mercedes loves advocacy and social justice, and on her off time enjoys reading, writing, kickboxing, and spending time with loved ones.

Annabelle Durham has been working at the Women’s Center since January 2023. She is currently working towards a BFA in Musical Theatre. As a queer, disabled feminist, Annabelle is passionate about helping those voices who aren’t heard as often and advocating for accessibility and equality in all aspects of personal and professional life. Aside from the Women’s Center, Annabelle is usually involved in the latest WSU theatre department production, as well as serving on the Associated Artists of the Theatre board as the Treasurer. She loves all things Broadway (and will happily rattle off obscure theatre facts at the drop of a hat), Jonathan Groff, music, and history. In her free time loves to cook, go thrift shopping, or play board games with her family.

Pamela Nunez has worked in the Women's Center since January 2023. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Psychological Science. She was raised bilingual in Guadalajara, Jalisco and moved to Utah in 2021. Being a lesbian woman and having experienced Mexican-American culture all her life, she values authenticity and recognizes the challenges that come with balancing different aspects of identity. In her free time, Pamela enjoys illustration and painting, listening to new music, audiobooks, yoga, traveling on a budget, and learning about way too many different subjects.

Hannah started working at the Women’s Center just this fall. She is a freshman at Weber State University and is working on her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. In her free time she loves to cook and spend time with her family and boyfriend. Her favorite shows are The Handmaid’s Tale, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Boys and Breaking Bad. She is OBSESSED with music and listens to upwards of 200,000 minutes every year. (Translated to days, that’s over half the year!) If you ever need anyone to talk to about music, definitely talk to her!

Jacquie started working at the Women’s Center this last semester. She is a BIS major with emphasis in criminal justice, communications, and Asian studies. She is hoping to graduate in the Fall of 2024. Outside of class and work, Jacquie can be found reading, reading, and reading. She has a goal to complete 1000 books this year. If you have any book suggestions, please let her know. :)

Katie has worked as a Safe@Weber Peer Educator since August 2022. Her goal as a Peer Educator is to create safe spaces for all students through education and empowerment. Alongside pursuing bachelor degrees in Criminal Justice and Political Science, Katie enjoys studying Art History and Philosophy. Outside of class and work, she loves painting, kayaking, and playing with her dogs.

Brittney has worked as a Safe@Weber Peer Educator since August 2023. She is pursuing a bachelors in Sociology with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. During her time as a peer educator Brittneys goal is to be engaged on campus and help spread knowledge, awareness, and passion when it comes to all aspects of campus safety. She is eager to continue her knowledge on feminism, society, and political issues. She loves the outdoors, animals and to talk about all forms of activism.
