Bear's Ears and Beyond

This experiential field-based program is appropriate for students of all disciplines and for anyone with an interest in the natural and cultural history of public lands in Utah. More specifically, the course will expose students to a variety of on-going and innovative programs, using hands-on, practical experiences, to explore the scope of human – environment relationships in the national parks and monuments in Utah.



Participants must:

-Be 18 years of age or older.

-Be a high school graduate or above.

-Read, speak, and understand English.

Deposit: $500 dollars will need to be paid when you hand in your application.

All payments must be made through the Hurst Center, NOT at the main cashier's office.  Payment can be made in person, or over the phone at (801) 626-6600.  The Hurst Center is located on the south side of campus next to the Alumni Center.

Includes:  room and board for 8 days of travel, domestic transportation, and some meals.
Not included: incidentals, any unscheduled travel, and all meals.

Students will explore many of the sites that people travel from all over the world to experience such as 9-mile Canyon, Green River, Moab, Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Moonflower Canyon, Cedars State Park, Bears Ears, Natural Bridges National Monument, Goblin Valley State Park, San Rafael Swell, Mount Nebo Scenic Loop, Capitol Reef, Calf Creek, and Bryce Canyon. 




Students who participate in this study abroad program will be able to register for up to six (6) semester credits through Weber State University in HIST 4920


If program is cancelled all participants will be refunded 100% of fees paid (WSU cannot reimburse personal funds spent outside beyond the program fee).  Withdrawal from the program may result in penalty fees, to be determined by the Study Abroad Director according to the refund policy described in the application.  All costs are non-refundable in their entirety 30 days prior to departure, without exception.
