Joseph R. Barrios Memorial Trumpet Scholarship

This scholarship serves to honor Ray Barrios for his lifetime love of music and playing the trumpet.  This legacy to Ray reflects his belief in the importance of education and developing the natural inner strengths of individuals.

Requirements:  The recipient will be selected by a committee appointed by the Chair of the DPA.  The recipient shall be a student trumpet player with an overall GPA of 3.0. or higher.  The recipient may be majoring in any department at WSU and does not necessarily have to be a music major.  The recipient may be a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior student.  The award will be based on financial need and on merit, as determined by the selection committee.  The award may be used to pay for tuition, fees, music lessons, books or other related education expenses deemed appropriate by the DPA.
