Department of Physician Assistant Medicine 


Application to the Weber State University (WSU) Physician Assistant (PA) Program will be done through the Centralized Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) system. The CASPA application cycle opens at the end of April each year.

The WSU PA program application cycle closes August 15th at 11:59 pm EST

Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early. Once applications are verified by CASPA and complete, the Admissions Committee will begin reviewing applications.

  • Important Dates


    • April 29th CASPA opens
    • August 15th WSU CASPA application closes; application DUE by 11:59 p.m. EST
    • September Candidate interviews
    • October Notification of Admissions Committee decisions
    • November Program Acceptance Form and seat deposit due to the PA program two weeks followng notification of acceptance 
    • January New-student orientation and classes begin (schedule TBA)
  • Application Checklist


    • Bachelor's degree (prior to enrollment)
    • Cumulative GPA >3.0
    • Science GPA >3.0
    • Successful completion of required coursework (prior to application)
    • Completion of recommended coursework (optional)
    • PA-CAT (required for students whose prerequisite coursework is more than 7 years old from application deadline)
    • Clinical healthcare experience (500 hours)
    • Evidence of leadership
    • Evidence of commitment to community
    • Three letters of reference
    • Personal statement
       
  • Requirements for Matriculation


    • Immunizations * (Hep A, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Meningococcal Disease, Influenza, and COVID-19)
    • Proof of health insurance
    • Physical examination
    • Background check revealing no prior convictions that would result in failure to participate in clinical rotations or obtain state licensure
    • Negative drug screen
    • Technical Standards Attestation Form
    • No history of dismissal from another PA, medical, or nursing program for academic or disciplinary reason
