Almost every college class has a paper you will need to write and this requires you have some sources for your paper. Do you envision a sea of journals, magazine, articles and online resources and not sure how to navigate these areas? We have an expert from the Library who will guide you through some basics to help you find the right sources to put in your paper.

Student Success Inventory

  • 9 seats available for each session

During this session, you will complete the Student Success Inventory and review the results with a Nontrad Advisor and Peer Mentors to plan your path to success! The Student Success Inventory is the first step to becoming a successful college student. Taking the inventory will allow you to assess your risk factors, evaluate your college preparedness and formulate a plan for handling barriers and roadblocks. Success in college is not just based on high school performance as measured by rank or grade point average, or by the SAT or ACT, especially for nontraditional students. Research has shown that other factors such as motivation, career decidedness, and other areas that are personal to each student impact success.

Come learn all the resources here to support you during this process and ways to be successful in Math!

Juggling Roles and Making it Work with a Syllabus!

Time management is one of the biggest challenges for nontraditional students when juggling college classes, home life, and deadlines on a syllabus. The Nontrad Advisor will walk through an example syllabus with you and help you strategically think about your semester. Not only how to plan out your semester, but what happens if you child get sick in the semester, what if you miss a deadline, or what if you have to drop a class? These are all possible road blocks to your education and we want to help you plan ahead and be prepared in case these situations arise.
