Mike and Heather Loughton Scholarship

The Mike and Heather Loughton scholarship has been established to benefit single parents majoring in a field in the College of Science at Weber State University. Heather was a single mother when she attended WSU and realized the importance and benefit of financial assistance during her journey in higher education. The donors hope to influence and support students who otherwise would find it difficult or impossible to pursue their dreams of a college degree. Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books, housing and other educational expenses. If scholarship award amounts, when combined with other sources of scholarships and financial aid, exceed tuition and fees, the student may receive a residual disbursement for the remainder of the award.

Students must be a single parent, enrolled in the College of Science, and show financial need. Preference will be given to students enrolled in Pre-med and who have a higher GPA (must have a WSU GPA between 2.5 and 4.0 to be considered for the scholarship). Finalists will be contacted via email to submit a letter of need and two letters of recommendation.
