All submissions must be original and unpublished.
The theme for the 2018 issue of Metaphor is "Matter of Fact," which means we're interested in work that explores the idea of truth and truthiness and post-truths and post-truthiness and facts and alternative facts and alternatives to alternative facts.
The use of the theme is meant to provide inspiration to writers as well as cohesion within each published issue. However, it is not required that submissions include the theme. A non-themed submission can win just as easily as a themed submission.
Send us your best work!
Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place, and the winning submission will be published in the spring issue of Metaphor. Finalists will also be considered for publication.
