Walk-in Guidelines
The IT Service Desk will be providing in-office walk-in support from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday thru Thursday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on Friday, and from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday.
In response to university guidance and Utah state directives, and to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the IT Service Desk will be following new guidelines for walk-in support. The following guidelines will be in effect beginning August 3rd, 2020.
Try remote support first
Whenever possible, support should be conducted remotely through the phone by calling (801) 626-7777 or through chat at IT Service Desk Chat. If your device is able to connect to the internet, IT Service Desk staff will be able to connect to it and perform troubleshooting and repair tasks. Walk-in support is available but should only be sought when remote methods have failed.
Stay home if you are sick
Stay home if you have any cold for flu symptoms, or if you have recently had a cold or flu-like illness.
Avoid close contact
While in the building, allow for a distance of at least six feet between you and the technician at all times. You may also choose to schedule an appointment for a time when you will not be in the office. If you wish to do this, ensure that that technician has access to your office and any and all equipment that they will be working with.
Wear a cloth face covering
In accordance with state guidelines, WSU is encouraging everyone to wear a face covering while inside a campus building. More information can be found on WSU’s guidelines for face coverings page.
Disinfect your devices
If a technician will be handling one of your devices or other belongings, clean and disinfect the items when you arrive at the IT Service Desk. We advise cleaning and disinfecting the items again after a technician handles them. The IT Service Desk will provide sanitizing wipes for your use while you are in the office. For guidance on device disinfection, visit our disinfecting computer devices guide.
Thank you for doing your part to help keep the campus community healthy!
