In-Office Support Guidelines
The IT Service Desk will be available for in-office visits beginning on August 3, 2020. In order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, please follow these guidelines when requesting in-office support.
Try remote support first
Whenever possible, support should be conducted remotely through the phone by calling (801) 626-7777 or through chat at IT Service Desk Chat. If your device is able to connect to the internet, IT Service Desk staff will be able to connect to it and perform troubleshooting and repair tasks. In-office support is available but should only be sought when remote methods have failed.
Stay home if you are sick
Stay home if you have any cold for flu symptoms, or if you have recently had a cold or flu-like illness.
Avoid close contact
Allow for a distance of at least six feet between you and the technician at all times. You may also choose to schedule an appointment for a time when you will not be in the office. If you wish to do this, ensure that that technician has access to your office and any and all equipment that they will be working with.
Wear a cloth face covering
In accordance with state guidelines, WSU is requiring everyone to wear a face covering while inside a campus building. More information can be found on WSU’s guidelines for face coverings page.
Disinfect your workspace
If a technician will be setting up or configuring technology within your workspace, clean and disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched (e.g., desks, countertops, electronics, doorknobs) just prior to your appointment. We advise cleaning and disinfecting the area again after the technician has left. For more information on how to disinfect electronic devices, visit our disinfecting computing devices page.
Thank you for doing your part to help keep the campus community healthy!
