Accounting '19

"I grew up in Roy Utah. I went to high school at NUAMES and participated in the early college program. I graduated high school with an Associates of General Studies and continued on to Weber State for my bachelors degree."

WHY WEBER?

"I chose Weber State because of the opportunities it provided me. The small school environment helped me to get to know my professors better and created a better classroom learning environment."

WHY ACCOUNTING?

"I didn’t start into my bachelors degree knowing what I wanted to do. However, when I started my first accounting class I discovered that I was really good at it. I actually got 100% on my first accounting exam. Through some collaboration with my professors I determined it was a good fit for me."

HOW DID THE GODDARD CAREER SERVICES IMPACT YOUR JOB SEARCH?

"The Goddard School’s Career Services helped me to learn important skills that would aid me in searching for a job, creating resumes and cover letters, and interviewing. They encouraged me to start looking for an internship early in my degree. Upon starting my search I came across and landed an internship that is going to help my career a lot."

INCREDIBLE ACCESS

"Throughout my experience at Weber State I have created good relationships with my professors and staff of the university. Everyone was so willing to answer all of my questions and help me outside of class. The faculty and staff are really rooting for their students to succeed and help in every way they can."

ADVICE

"I would advise students to start now meeting with career services instead of waiting until they are towards the end of their degree. It’s never too early to learn how to get a job."

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

"I am currently working for UMB Fund Services as an intern.  My educational experience at the Goddard School has helped me to become passionate about business, identify my major, and get excited for my future career."
