WHY WEBER STATE?

I chose Weber State because it was affordable and it was close to home! I have always wanted to do something business so I decided to explore Goddard. After taking a few classes, I decided that I wanted to major in Accounnting.

WHY ACCOUNTING?

---

I initially chose Accounting for the stability that the profession offers. After studying it and taking a few classes, I have found that I am intrigued by tax law/strategy and reducing a person's/entity's tax liability.

INCREDIBLE ACCESS

---

The availability of the professors. Every professor that I have had has always been super willing to help me with questions about their class or their career. Another big helping hand was Brett Merrell. He helped me to draft up a resume that secured me a lot of job interviews! I would highly recommend that all Goddard students see him as soon as possible.

ACTIVITES / CLUBS

---

Beta Alpha Psi and the Army ROTC program. They have both helped me tremendously in gathering leadership and extra-curricular experience. I couldn't thank everybody enough that have helped me and mentored me in both of these organizations. They have truly set me up for success!

FACULTY IMPACT

Lisa Hopkins - She was so much more than a professor. She shows sincere interest in all of her students lives and truly wants the best for us.

Ryan Pace and Darcie Costello -  As the tax professors, they helped me decide that tax was the route that I wanted to take. They made it super interesting for me.

Jeff Davis - He has been an awesome advisor to work with in Beta Alpha Psi. He has been super helpful and guided our team to host successful events.

ADVICE

College is so much more than just receiving a degree. I have met so many incredible people throughout my time at Weber State. Networking is just as important, if not more, than your degree. It's not about what you know, it's about who you know.

WHERE ARE YOU NOW / CAREER ASPIRATIONS

I am currently starting my senior year at Weber State. I graduate next Spring and will have a tax internship with Deloitte & Touche the following summer.
