BRADY
masters of business administration '18 (CPO finalist & Top 40 under 40 awardee)

If you are passionate about an idea, a solution to a business need, don’t be afraid to pursue it and share it! Entrepreneurship is how our country was founded. It’s how we improve and push each other to be better!Having belief and confidence that no matter who you are you can make a difference. You can make a positive impact."

WHY WEBER STATE?

I came to an orientation after my undergrad and liked the mentality of the leaders and the hybrid approach to the program. I knew it would be a great all around program and study for me so I decided to pursue WSU.

WHY MBA?

Something that has stuck with me is from Dave Noack's Strategic Management MBA class. In that course, we talked about what separates successful businesses and companies. They are always looking to improve. They are always looking to innovate. Doing something "like you've always done it" is only successful if you are willing and able to adapt, be receptive to feedback, and always be in the pursuit of truth, and finding the best possible ways to do things.  This is something that I’ve always strived to do.   Having belief and confidence that no matter who you are you can make a difference. You can make a positive impact.

It was fun and rewarding to work on a graduate consulting project that allowed me to vet out an idea using technology to help students maximize their return on investment to their education.  The project, MicroConnect, allowed students to quickly make connections based on common interests, or needs, and allowed them to maximize their networking opportunities both during their education and after their graduation.

ADVICE

Focus on the overall education.  Make a point to comment and participate in each class discussion. Your thoughtful comments will add to the overall academic experience and will enhance your learning as well as those around you. I’ve used a guiding principle of the “Golden Rule.”  How would I want to be treated in this situation?  Even during difficult situations, if you approach the work or problem with the golden rule in mind, it will guide you through tough situations.  Lead with empathy, look to make the best of a situation, and look for win-win scenarios.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU?

Building a great culture within an organization that allows people to be successful and fulfill their potential.  Success is when we are all one team- enthusiastically supporting each other to be successful.  Success is helping others to reach and fulfil their full potential.  When others around us are successful it helps us be more successful.  Together, a cohesive team that is supporting each other to be successful will always achieve more than what a group of individuals can achieve.

WHERE ARE YOU NOW & WHAT ARE YOU CAREER ASPIRATIONS?

Currently working as Director of People Operations at Experlogix.  Brady is aspiring to build great people cultures at companies, and building great teams with high levels of collaboration, diversity, and high performance, where everyone is enthusiastically supporting each other to be successful.

IN 2022, Brady was named a finalist as CPO (Chief People Officer) of the year, and named to the top 40 under 40. Here's what he has to say!

A huge part of the success of these awards comes from the support and success of those around me and the company.  In November, our company was named one of the best companies work for by the Utah Business Magazine.  To be named, each of our people were evaluated through an extensive process.  Questions around work/life balance, work culture, career development, supportive leadership and many others topics around our people and their wellness were evaluated.

Not every effort is always seen. There is a lot of hard work that is done behind the scenes. Not every effort leads to an immediate result. It takes dedication and effort to achieve great results.  Success often comes during the second mile.  It’s rewarding to see some of the fruit of the efforts that have been put in, pay off and make a difference in people’s lives.
