WHY WEBER STATE?
After years of homemaking and raising kids, I needed to do something to better myself and mind. I chose to enroll at WSU because I grew up in Davis county, it was affordable, and the proximity to my home was ideal. After a few years back in the workforce, I wanted a master’s degree so any and every possible door for my personal and professional growth was attainable. WSU was familiar, easy to enroll, welcoming, and customized for working students!
When deciding on a major for my undergraduate work, I chose to pursue business administration and marketing; the first to be well rounded and informed, and the second to utilize creativity. Once I graduated, I had the privilege of working in both fields, and though I enjoyed marketing, I was passionate about business! After working a few years, I decided it was time become a Master, of Business Administration anyway.
Small(ish) classes, easy access to professors, more affordable than the larger institutions, Davis campus rocks! The greatest asset is the professional relationships formed with both professors and other students. Some of these relationships will continue on!
Matt Mouritsen is one of the greatest professors of all time! I had the privilege of meeting and learning from him during my MBA, and now get to work with him occasionally on professional assignments. Matt has a way of making learning, business, and life fun and I feel he was one of the greatest benefits of the program!

HOW HAS THE MBA PROGRAM IMPACTED YOU?
My MBA pursuit was to ensure no future opportunities were unattainable because I wasn’t prepared. I value all this degree brought me, but knowing it has the ability to open doors in my future is the greatest advantage of all.
WHERE ARE YOU NOW?
I am currently the Director of Business and Economic Development for Davis Technical College. Upon graduating from WSU with my bachelors, I created and ran a marketing department for a non-profit, and a few years later applied for a leadership position at Davis Tech. The same month I applied for the MBA program I received the promotion to the role I am currently in.
