Program Educational Objectives
Educational objectives are the career and life accomplishments that the program prepares graduates
to achieve within a few years after graduation. The educational objectives of the WSU Electrical
Engineering Program are to produce graduates that are able to:
- Design and develop electrical systems.
- Effectively communicate technical information and participate in a team environment.
- Engage in life-long learning through continuing education and industrial practice.
- Demonstrate professional ethics and social awareness.
Student outcomes describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of
graduation. Graduates of the WSU Electrical Engineering Program will have:
- An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering.
- An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
- An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic
- constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety,
- manufacturability and sustainability.
- An ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
- An ability to identify, formulate and solve engineering problems.
- An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
- An ability to communicate effectively.
