Converting Sick Leave PPM
Full-time non-exempt, exempt and executive staff accrue one working day of sick leave for each month of service. Part-time salaried non-exempt, exempt and executive staff accrue sick leave benefits on a prorated basis.
Sick leave may be used for personal illness, doctor and dentist appointments, injury, maternity, and immediate family illness. Immediate family is defined as spouse, parent (where employee is a necessary care giver), son or step-son, daughter or step-daughter, and foster children under the legal care of the employee. Sick leave credit may be converted to vacation time according to an established formula.
The university reserves the right to require substantiation of sick leave absences. Notify your supervisor on the first day of an absence and periodically thereafter in the event of an extended illness or injury. Non-salaried employees do not earn sick leave.
