Mark Baugh – Styrofoam Recycling

Mark Baugh, Manufacturing Engineering Technology-Welding, was part of team that developed a Polymax polystyrene densification system.   The system compresses the styrofoam, making it economical to ship for recycling, keeping it out of the landfills.  This technology is exclusively licensed to Matrix Manufacturing, which Mark and his business partner started in 2005. Matrix has been placing its Polymax systems nationwide with large companies that produce Styrofoam, waste services, and many city municipalities.   This summer, the City of Houston unveiled their machine.  In the photo is the mayor (second from left) and the Total Petrochemicals and Refining USA, Inc CEO (far right) who donated the machine to the city.
