State PBL Conference

Twenty-one students competed in the Utah State PBL Spring Conference held April 5-7 in St. George. Every student from Weber State University who competed was on stage at least once to collect certificates of accomplishment in their respective areas of competition.

In addition to the individual awards, the Weber State University chapter was honored for activities and accomplishments during the year. Weber State acquired the coveted traveling trophy in recognition of outstanding member achievement in competition.

Danielle Rich was recognized with a Superior rating in Who’s Who in PBL. Harrison Spendlove will represent the state of Utah in Who’s Who in PBL at the national conference. Another highlight during the awards ceremony was when Laura Anderson was awarded the Advisor of the Year Award.

The purpose of PBL is to provide leadership opportunities for students who are interested in business.  Membership includes students majoring in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Education, Business Multimedia, Communications, Economics, Finance, and Network Management Technologies.

Students who placed 1st or 2nd in their category may go to Anaheim June 22nd to compete at Nationals.  They will be representing Utah and Weber State against more than 1,700 students from around the country in over 55 business related events.  Its a great opportunity for these students.
