Department of Engineering Art Contest

The Department of Engineering got a new paint job in the office at B4 421 and wanted to have some appropriate decorations to hang back on the walls.  They decided to sponsor a campus wide Art Contest to encourage students to submit their art in any medium that has to do with Engineering or the University.  First place of an $80 Bookstore gift card went to Leslie Mellinger, a graduate student in Elementary Education, for her modern painting depicting different types of Engineering.  She has always enjoyed art, especially since her mother recognized her talent at a young age.  Second place of a $40 gift card went to Dara Littrell, a senior in Electronics Engineering Technology and President of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), for completing the three dimensional depiction of the Weber State campus in metal.  Third place of a $30 gift card went to Mark Dalene, a senior in Manufacturing/Welding Engineering Technology who submitted the image of Weber State with the flying W in a metal oval.  He will be graduating and moving to Illinois with his family to work for John Deere later this year.
