CS Spring Break Study Abroad
Rich Fry, Computer Science department, is taking a third Computer Science Study Abroad class to Ghana over Spring Break (March 7-21). This trip will involve 9 more students, bringing the total to 24 students in less than a year. This trip will also include bonus stopovers in London and Amsterdam.
“We are continuing to build an electronic medical records and inventory tracking system for a 1700 bed teaching hospital in the capital, as well as hotel and restaurant management software for the two places we stay. In addition, our students have raised over $1500 in donations for a homeless youth soccer team called the “Charity Stars”.
These students are adopted by families and are trained to play soccer in exchange for a promise that they’ll stay off the streets and stay in school. We always take over extra soccer equipment and monetary donations.” Contact Rich if you wish to contribute.
