Monday, October 9, 2017

  • Tabeling: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, Shepherd Union Atrium
    • Stop by the Union Atrium to find out more information about LGBTQ+ identities and various resources and services available in our community.
  • Coming Out Panel Discussion: 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, Shepherd Union Wildcat Theater
    • Come hear people share their stories and experiences of coming out as LGBTQ+. Learn about the experience of coming out and the reasons why people come out. Learn how to support those in their life who may come out to you.

  • “Forbidden: Undocumented and Queer in Rural America”, 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, Shepherd Union Wildcat Theater
    • Come join us for the screening of the documentary “Forbidden: Undocumented and Queer in Rural America.”  The documentary highlights the experience of a young man in North Carolina who finds a way to balance his Queer identity and his citizenship status through outreach and social activism. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.

  • Pride Week Rally: 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, Bell Tower Plaza (in case of inclement weather, Shepherd Union Atrium)
    • Come show your support and solidarity for the LGBTQ+ community. We will have several local LGBTQ+ people and allies speak about the history of LGBTQ+ support in our campus community and steps moving forward.
  • Consent for the LGBTQ+ Community: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm-WIldcat Theater
    • Join us for a presentation hosted by the Women’s Center on consent in the LGBTQ+ community. Discussion of dating and relationships is often limited in our society and the discussions that do occur sadly exclude LGBTQ+ people. Come learn about how to engage in consent.

  • LGBTQ+ 101: 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm, LGBT Resource Center, SC 154
    • The LGBT Resource Center will be providing and LGBTQ+ 101 training. We will learn about the differences between biological sex, gender, and sexual orientation as well as the use and meaning of terminology. We will also discuss how to be an ally and advocate for LGBTQ+ people in our communities.

  • LGBTQ+ Pride Drag Show: 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, D2 Ballrooms, Davis Campus
    • Come join us for a night of fun and performance. We will be finishing off Pride Week with a celebration drag show. Admittance is free and all are welcome to attend. All performer tips and donations raised will go to benefit the IRCONU Children’s Love & Laughter Fund for Youth Futures.
