Important information about fall and spring semesters

This communication was sent campuswide Nov. 5, 2020.

Dear Weber State Students:

It is hard to believe we are in the final weeks of fall semester. We continue to be impressed by the grit and determination we have seen from all of you.

Here are a couple of important reminders and an end-of-semester survey request:

Self-report COVID-19

Slow the spread of COVID-19 and self-report if:

  • You have tested positive,

  • You have come in contact with someone who has, or

  • You have symptoms and need to be tested on campus.

A university representative will contact you within hours to learn more about your circumstance and provide guidance on what you should do to protect yourself and your loved ones. Your identity will be kept confidential. Your professors will understand and work with you so you don't fall behind in class, and you will not be penalized in any way for self-reporting. We are here to support you.

Spring registration

Registration opens Nov. 9 starting at 7 a.m. Registration will continue to open up throughout the next two weeks based on assigned registration dates. Now is the time to meet with your advisor, plan your schedule, and find your registration date. Go to the Registration Time — Check Status app in the eWeber portal to view your assigned registration date. The breakdown for determining assigned registration dates is posted online. Assigned dates are determined by earned credit hours completed and do not include in-progress coursework for a current semester.

We will continue to offer the flexible course delivery methods developed for fall 2020 with an emphasis on increased face-to-face instruction where feasible. This includes classes that are in-person, online, virtual and hybrid.

Spring student fees

Weber State remains committed to assisting students who may be impacted financially by the pandemic, so will reduce student fees again for spring semester 2021. Fees will be reduced for each student (prorated by credit hours) by 7.5%, and will be reflected on spring billings. Be sure to visit our Keeping Connected website for a list of what is happening both on campus and virtually, and for the most up-to-date information about the services available in person, online or both.

We want to keep a pulse on how you are feeling, what your plans are for next semester, your thoughts on graduation and share your feedback with university leaders. Please take a moment to complete our latest survey. We are not tracking respondents and will only report data in aggregate. Please complete the survey by Nov. 11.

Winter closure and Saturday hours

Weber State University campuses will be closed Dec. 24, 2020 through Jan. 2, 2021. Offices will reopen Jan. 4, 2021 to help you get ready for the start of spring semester on Jan. 11. Please plan any university business you may have accordingly. Select offices will also be available to help you on Saturday, Jan. 9, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information about what services will be available, please visit

If you have any COVID related questions, or general questions, and are not sure who to ask, please send an email to

Best wishes to you for a successful conclusion to the fall 2020 semester!
