Finals Are Over and We Are Still Here For You

This communication was sent to students April 28, 2020.

Dear Weber State Students:

I hope you are safe and well during our continued COVID-19 situation and that you were able to complete spring courses in the most positive way possible. Here are some key updates and critical information as we look toward summer and fall semesters.

Weber State announced it will hold commencement, Saturday, Aug. 29. Invite your family and friends to join you for an event that will celebrate this historic milestone. The unprecedented end to spring semester makes 2020 a unique class, and we plan to make this a unique experience.

Reserve your cap and gown today

Be sure to reserve your free cap, gown, tassel, diploma cover and cords. Wildcat Store began shipping April 20 - the last day to reserve will be May 8, 2020. When they arrive, take your picture in the cap and gown and share on social media. Use #webergrad2020 or tag us on Instagram @weberstate, so everyone can see how great you look as a graduate. The Graduation Office will continue processing diplomas as normal. Your diploma will arrive in the mail once final grades have been submitted and degrees processed.

Wildcat Store

Our online store is open 24/7, and summer books are now available. Enter your student credentials to receive your booklist and comparison shop from multiple online retailers. Free shipping is available on all online orders from Wildcat Store.

Spring semester rental returns are still being accepted until Friday, May 1.

We are hoping to hold an in-person buyback on campus in June. In the meantime, we've partnered with one of our suppliers for an online buyback.

Career Services

Career Services has all employment services available to graduates online and through virtual appointments with your career adviser.  The Handshake website has templates for resumes, cover letters, interviews and networking guides. Activating or updating your Handshake profile allows employers to actively look for you from your resume. On May 12 there will be a Virtual Statewide Alumni Career Fair from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. with more than 100 employers.

Keeping Connected

As we transition into summer semester, we want you to remember there are services and events available to keep you connected to the university and to each other. Please be sure to regularly check out our new Keeping Connected website for updates.

Please take a moment to provide updated feedback that can help us moving forward.  Please complete the WSU student survey by Wednesday, May 6.

Virtual Town Hall

On Thursday, May 7, at 1 p.m., we will host a town hall to check in with students and answer your questions. We will provide updates to the summer and fall semesters during the event. We also will share some of the survey feedback during the town hall. Please join us at the Zoom event. ASL interpretation will be provided. We ask that you submit questions ahead of time at

Best wishes, and hope to “see” you next Thursday!
