Option to Change to CR/NC until April 24

The following communication was sent to students April 15, 2020.

Dear Students,

Because of the unprecedented circumstances surrounding COVID-19, Weber State is offering some flexibility in grading for Spring 2020 courses. Students may choose between standard letter grades ('A' through 'E') or credit/no credit (CR/NC) for their second block or full semester spring courses. The CR/NC option is Weber State's version of pass/fail, with a grade of C- or better required to earn CR. Choosing CR/NC is a personal decision and should be carefully considered. You have until Friday, April 24 to decide if CR/NC is right for your circumstances.

It is important to understand that while CR/NC may help some students, the option may also have negative impacts for some students depending on their program of study, financial aid, and other important factors. Please read the information in the Spring 2020 Grading Options website carefully and work with your academic department, advisor, and other suggested resources to ensure that you make the best decision for your individual circumstances. In some but not all cases, CR/NC may be used to fulfill degree requirements, so be sure to check with the appropriate department if you plan to use a course toward your major or minor requirements, to fulfill General Education, as a prerequisite to other courses, or for program admission. The following flowchart outlines the suggested steps to take before considering a change in grade mode:

For more information, including instructions on how to change to CR/NC, please visit the Spring 2020 Grading Options website.

The entire Weber State community commends you on your determination to succeed despite these challenging circumstances, and we are here to do all we can to support your educational goals.

Sincerely,

Ravi
