Adjunct Faculty Onboarding
The Faculty Onboarding Academy consists of numerous sessions on course design and teaching strategies that will give you the tools to be a dynamic professor in virtual and face-to-face teaching environments. You will be given opportunities to engage and network with senior faculty. Additionally, you will be equipped with knowledge for navigating fair and safe interactions with students, colleagues and data as employees of our institution.
Navigating the Program
There are three main modules in this program.
(If you have not received an email from Bridge to enroll, you should be able to follow the links above to enroll in the modules.)
These modules are designed in separate courses to allow you to take them simultaneously if you so desire. They do not have to be taken in order.
Some of the lessons within these modules will be synchronous sessions (either virtual or in person). A schedule of the synchronous sessions can be found below.
You will find that some of the sessions are required for completion of the Academy and some are electives. You must complete ALL required sessions and at least 3 electives (2 in the Teaching Module and 1 in the Instructional Design Module).
All of the lessons in the Employment module will be offered through Training Tracker in your eWeber Portal. You must sign up for these and have them added to your calendar. Instructions on how to do that can be found in the Employment Module.
The Faculty Onboarding Academy will culminate with the New Faculty Retreat for full-time faculty members in October and the Adjunct Faculty Retreat for adjunct faculty members in February. These are required events to receive your certificate. They will allow you to meet and network with your fellow faculty members and offer additional sessions designed to help you in your teaching. You may register for these events below.
