What is an Internship?

An internship is defined as an experiential education in a professional setting, where students combine classroom learning with practical skills and application, for an employer. Students may earn academic credit for their declared major when the learning that takes place during an internship is related to their major and/or career interests.

An internship is student specific and must be made with a specific student in mind.

The purpose of an internship is not to simply advance the day to day operations of the workplace. It is to provide a pre-professional career training experience. This internship must be a learning experience that provides an application of the knowledge gained in the classroom.
