Competitive Sports

Competitive Sports Manager

The Competitive Sports (CoSpo) Managers assists the CoSpo professional staff in advising the 15+ clubs that are under Campus Recreation by ensuring clubs are in compliance with WSU and risk management protocols regarding budget, travel, purchases, and many other elements. This position also assists the CoSpo professional staff with administration of the intramural events throughout the year.

Competitive Sports Supervisor

The Competitive Sports (CoSpo) Supervisors work with both Competitive Sport programs. CoSpo Supervisors are responsible for supervising Intramural events, Sport Club practices and events taking place at various campus locations throughout the year. Duties include setting up and breaking down fields/courts for competition, managing risk, troubleshooting and finding solutions to issues during activities, handling disciplinary issues with participants, providing customer service to participants, recording game results and updating/posting standings each day, assisting the CoSpo professional staff with conducting officials training, promoting activities, and other duties as assigned.

Intramural Official

Intramural (IM) Officials are responsible for officiating intramural events taking place at various campus locations throughout the year. IM Officials serve as the face of the department at intramural events and other Campus Recreation functions. Duties include providing customer service, practicing conflict resolution, preparing facilities for competition, and enforcing intramural and Campus Rec rules and procedures.

Sport Club Leadership Positions

Sport Club Leadership (SCL) is made up of the Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Treasurers, Secretaries, and other student leader positions of various clubs that are responsible for the operations of non-NCAA athletic teams. SCL recruit club members, create a club constitution, hold team meetings/practices/competitions, and work with the Competitive Sports Staff to ensure compliance with WSU and risk management protocols regarding budget, travel, equipment purchasing, etc.

Sport Club Council Members

Three students sit on the Sport Club Council (SCC) along with WSU staff and faculty to give input on issues related to Sport Clubs such as disciplinary/reward actions, student fee and activity waiver allotments, and policies and protocols. Student members are voted onto the Council by members of the Sport Club Leadership.
