Bachelor of Science in Athletic Therapy Admission

Become an athletic therapy major to prepare for graduate studies in athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician's assistant, medical school, or a related field.

If you have not already applied to WSU, you must do so before continuing.

Step 2:

Meet With Our Admissions Coordinator

Step 3:

Complete Prerequisites

Complete 25 credit hours, including the prerequisite courses. For the list of required courses and grade requirements, please click the button below.

Complete the Application

Applications will be accepted within the first four weeks of each semester. Students who fail to meet admission requirements will not be allowed to enroll in AT 4150, AT 4250, AT4650 or AT 4800.

Step 5:

Meet with Our Program Director

Once you complete the application and the required courses, contact the Program Director Dr. Conrad Gabler (conradgabler@weber.edu) to set up a meeting.

Retention Requirements

Required Retention Criteria

After students are selected into the program, their retention is based on these criteria:

Students who fail to meet the retention criteria will be placed on probation in the athletic therapy major for one semester.

If standards are not met by the end of the probationary period, the student may be dismissed from the major at the discretion of the program director.

Repeating courses in the major

  • Students who receive any grade below a B- in an athletic therapy major course must repeat that course, and receive a grade of B- or higher to remain in the major.
  • Students who receive any grade below a C in an athletic therapy support course or elective must repeat that course, and receive a grade of C or higher to remain in the major.
  • Failure to repeat a course (when offered) will result in dismissal from the program at the discretion of the program director.
     
  • Students who fail to meet the retention criteria will be placed on probation in the Athletic Therapy major for one semester. If standards are not met by the end of the probationary period, the student may be dismissed from the major at the discretion of the program director.
