Dr. Richard M. Alston (1992)

“In 1992, the year in which I was honored to be the recipient of the prestigious Hinckley Fellow award, I was actively engaged in teaching, the faculty senate and research in the areas of ecosystem-based management of the nation’s national forests. Although my research interests have taken a new direction, the Hinckley Award is a constant reminder that my peers at WSU expect — and are willing to reward — hard work. The Hinckley award is particularly satisfying because it is a faculty award that recognizes all three areas of faculty responsibility: teaching, scholarship and service.”
