Provost Madonne Miner

Dr. Madonne Miner serves as Provost of Weber State University.  Prior to her appointment as Provost she served as Dean of the Telitha E. Lindquist College of Arts & Humanities at Weber State University for eight years. When accepting the assignment of Provost, she praised the university’s leadership and the strong foundation she inherited: “This university has a firm grasp on its mission and vision, and my higher education values are Weber State’s values: access, learning and community.”

Provost Miner came to Weber State from Texas Tech University where she served as the associate dean for the College of Arts and Sciences. She earned her Ph.D. in English at SUNY-Buffalo.  A Milwaukee native, Miner first fell in love with the West’s mountain air, sunshine and blue skies while teaching English at the University of Wyoming, where she spent 15 years. She is an avid reader who admires the prose of the modernist authors of the early 20th century. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor recreation and is a frequent marathoner.
