Appropriate supervisors include department chairs, deans, vice president, or directors at the departmental level or higher, or teachers of classes.

Title IX/Sexual Misconduct

Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 is the comprehensive federal law that prohibits discrimination and harassment on the basis of sex in any federally funded educational institution's programs or activities.

Discrimination

Discrimination is conduct which denies or limits a person's opportunities or adversely affects a term or condition of employment or participation in University programs, services, or activities based on a person's protected classification(s) (PPM3-32).

Discriminatory Harassment

Discriminatory harassment is unwelcome conduct that is based on protected classifications as defined in PPM3-32 that creates hostile work or learning environment.

Disability Access

The Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADA) and Sections 504 & 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1972 prohibit discrimination on the basis of an individual’s status as a person with a disability.
